About
Daisy's Mexican Burritos #1 is a hidden gem nestled at 1046 Kansas Ave in Kansas City, KS. This unassuming spot serves up some of the most vibrant and flavorful Mexican burritos you'll find in the area. Walking into Daisy's feels like stepping into a local secret—where authenticity meets bold, fresh ingredients and generous portions.
What immediately stands out is their mastery over the burrito craft. The burrito loco, especially when filled with steak and shrimp, delivers a perfect balance of textures—a tortilla that's crisp on the outside yet tender inside, combined with fresh, crunchy bell peppers and succulent, well-seasoned meats. The boldness of their spiced fillings, from the Rancherito’s juicy steak with grilled onions and jalapeños to the spicy shrimp burrito, is both vibrant and satisfying.
The attention to salsa is another highlight. Whether you choose the green or red, the salsas are richly seasoned and pack a significant punch, especially if you take the advice to go spicy. Diners who eat in can enjoy unlimited sauce, adding another layer of excitement and flavor to their meal. This sauce generosity shows Daisy's commitment to enhancing every bite and elevating the burrito experience beyond the standard.
Beyond burritos, the menu surprises with dishes like the Hawaiian torta—cleanly prepared and bursting with flavor—and robust pastor nachos that satisfy even the most discerning appetite. Portions here are hearty, large enough to please those with big appetites, yet everything remains fresh and vibrant.
The charm of Daisy's also lies in its atmosphere: a spotless, small dining area that feels both welcoming and genuine, a true locals' favorite. Friendly staff enhance the experience, creating a place where great Mexican food is paired with genuine hospitality.
In sum, Daisy's Mexican Burritos #1 is more than just a place to grab a quick meal. It's a destination for those who appreciate authentic Mexican flavors, generous portions, and a touch of spice. Whether you're craving a bold, saucy burrito or a flavorful torta, Daisy's delivers with passion and consistency—making it a must-visit for any burrito enthusiast in Kansas City.
“ Their burritos locos, and their breakfast burrito are straight money. They are very aggressive about the amount of sauce they give you on a to go order. The amount of sauce you want and should have for a burrito that huge you don't get. If you go in and eat you can have all the sauce you want to put on your burrito. It's crazy! They are not playin about the sauce. Food is excellent the people are nice and few of the employees speak English. It's in my hood so I definitely recommend Daisy's! ”
“ If you’re looking for a good burrito, look no further because Daisy’s is your place!! To start, the salsa is phenomenal! It was seasoned extremely well and an excellent appetizer leading up to your actual meal. We ordered the Rancherito burrito which comes with steak, grilled onions, tomatoes, and jalapeños, and guacamole. We also ordered the shrimp burrito, which came with a lot of the same fillings, plus cabbage, rice, and red sauce. The moment I unwrapped the burrito I knew it was going to be spot on when I saw the homemade tortilla. The meats in each of the burritos was seasoned to absolute perfection and the grilled veggies were the icing on the cake! Whenever I’m in the Kansas City area Daisy’s will be a pit stop from now on! ”
“ What a spot. This a total hole in the wall locals only sort of spot. You have to know it's there almost, and man is worth finding. Flavor is paramount here. Spice is for sure. The Hawaiian torta was absolutely phenomenal, and the shrimp burrito was very spicy yet so flavorful and delicious we couldn't stop. The dining area was remarkably clean and well kept. ”
“ The best burrito I’ve had since living in SoCal. The burrito loco with steak and shrimp is muy delicioso. The tortilla was slightly charred/crisp on the outside and slightly doughy on the inside. Exactly how it should be. The meat tasted fresh and the bell peppers had a nice crunch. When you get take away they ask what salsa you want (green or red) and if you want it spicy. Go for spicy red and don’t ask for more. They give you two and two will perfectly suffice. I’m a salsa guy and this tasted homemade. This is fast food but it’s not. Expect to wait 5 mins even without anyone in front of you. There is no drive thru. Suggest eating there. They do a good job of clearing the tables and picking up after customers finish their meal. I really like this place. ”
“ Have had both the pastor nachos and burrito loco and both have been so good. It’s a small building so I wouldn’t expect to eat there but they do have some seating. Friendly people. ”
